PROJECT COMPLETE // 27 Wardour Street.

The project at 27 Wardour street included both CAT A and CAT B refurbishment works. The ground and basement levels underwent a full CAT A refurbishment, creating a versatile blank canvas for future tenants.

The refurbishment on the 1st to 3rd floors focused on CAT B residential upgrades. This encompassed the installation of fire rated ceilings, new partitioning and comprehensive decorative works.

Additionally, the project featured new modern kitchens, bathrooms, ensuites and bespoke joinery along with improved flooring and tiling. Finally, a complete overhaul of the mechanical and electrical systems was implemented.

PROJECT COMPLETE // 5 Saville Row, London - Check out the professional photos of the Job from the job, we posted last week. Great photos by Ben Thomson.

This project is a CAT B refurbishment of the existing ground floor office within the building, facilitating a tenant’s relocation to the newly updated space.
Works included the restoration and cleaning the existing metal pan ceiling, with a mixture of new and existing MF borders and decorations throughout.
The office space now benefits from new double glazed meeting rooms and fully equipped custom joinery kitchenette.
New M&E works were undertaken to freshen the space up including new lighting and servicing / relocation AC to suit new office layout.

May 2024 – Eldon House, London – Structural Extension & CAT A refurbishment, Project Update.

A huge congratulations to all MICA PROJECTS LTD staff, operatives, and subcontractors, working on the Eldon House Phase 2 project, for their outstanding efforts and perseverance that was key to winning the prestigious Gold Award through the City of London’s Considerate Constructors scheme.

The works involve the extensive Structural alterations, additional floor and CAT refurbishment throughout the entire building.
The Gold Award is a brilliant example of Mica’s dedication to maintaining high standards on every project and we are honoured that our Eldon House project team’s commitment to excellence has been recognised with such a highly respected award.

January 2024 - Ascent 4, Farnborough – CAT B refurbishment, Project throwback

Throwback to this time last year, when we successfully completed a high end CAT B fitout to the Ground floor wing at Ascent 4, Farnborough.

Works included new dropped feature ceilings and meeting rooms with glazed Crittal style partitioning. New finishes throughout with the M&E upgrades to suit.

Started September 2022, completed January 2023.

26 Fouberts Place, London – CAT A refurbishment, Project instructed.

This project is a Whitebox, CAT A, refurbishment of the ground and basement floors, of 26 Fouberts Place, to allow a future tenant to install their own finishing touches.

Works include strip out of existing finishes, installation of new ceilings and ply flooring and decorations throughout.

New kitchen extract ductwork will be installed to allow future tenant connections.

68 Farringdon Road, London – CAT A+ refurbishment, Project complete.

The 1st floor CAT A+ and associated common part/reception upgrades have completed at 68 Farringdon for our client Dartriver CLID.

The completed 1st floor provides a warm, modern and welcoming office space, with fixed working spaces aswell as flexible working areas to suit the ever evolving workplace

14-16 Hans Crescent, London – High End Residential refurbishment, Project commenced.

This project is a high end residential refurbishment of the top floor/s (duplex) apartment of the building to allow a future letting.

Works include replacement of roof coverings, new roof-lights, replacement windows, new partitions, plasterboard ceilings complete with feature detailing and cornicing, hardwood and stone floors, bespoke joinery including wardrobes; bathroom fitments; desks; general cupboards; feature doors; new high spec kitchen installation, specialist wall finishes, decorations, etc.

Electrical installations, mechanical and public health installations, Audio Visual Installations (integrated with M & E installations including lighting and heating controls etc) are also being installed.

46 Berwick St, London – CAT A refurbishment, Project complete.

This project was a very well designed and detailed refurbishment to provide a new lease of life to a part listed historic building in Soho.

Works were carried out to a very high standard, with sustainability and re-purposing of existing materials at the heart of it.

The building was extended to the rear and infilled with a new bespoke glazed roof area. A new plant area with green roof was created above the new kitchen/breakout space.

All floors were extensively structural repaired, renewed reclaimed floor boards with a innovative recycled timber panelling system installed throughout. Full new M&E throughout all floors, with new WC’s installed on 2 floors.

The Ground and Basements were refurbished to provide white box units for the incoming tenants, this included building upgrades and a new feature shopfront.

Project Started - 27 Wardour Street, London

This project is a mixture of CAT A & CAT B refurbishment existing ground and basement is a CAT A refurbishment to allow a blank canvas for future incoming tenants.

The 1st to 3rd floor is to be a CAT B residential refurbishment.

Works include new fire rated ceilings, partitions with decorations throughout. There will be new kitchens, bathrooms, ensuites and custom joinery throughout, including flooring and tiling.

Full new M&E building upgrades will be carried out to complete the phase of refurbishment

Project commenced - Hamleys, Regent St, London

We’ve been instructed to undertake works on Hamleys prominent, 19th Century building, in Regent Street.

Works include the replacement of the gas fired boilers and the air-cooled chillers, installing new, low carbon technologies, such as centralised ventilation system and air source heat pumps in their place. This will have a positive impact on the buildings carbon dioxide emissions.

Further structural upgrades and roof overlaying works will be carried out to help maintain this flagships stores presence on Regent Street.

Started June 2023, completed December 2023 .

This project is a CAT A refurbishment of the existing ground and basement of the building, with extensive structural reinforcement works being carried out.

The rear ground floor space is being expanded by making use of the courtyard creating an inside space and opening it up with an architectural glazed roof.

We take great pride in wishing a very happy 30th work anniversary to Nikola Grenander-Cobb, who’s excellent work ethic and dynamic personality has positively impacted everyone here at Mica.

Nikola joined us in 1993 and immediately excelled in her career, becoming an essential member of the team. She has shown great dedication and commitment to developing Mica and enjoyed working in a family environment.

Nikola lights up the office and working with her is one of the most rewarding experiences.

Carl started his journey with us in 1993, enjoying working in a flexible environment with family and friends. After excelling in his career, Carl became a Director in 2012 and has continued to help the company grow.

He has undertaken many of the larger, more intricate, and more complicated projects with great skill and dedication, delivering projects on time and to an impeccable standard. Carl is also well known for his patience and understanding while aiding in the training of the assistant surveyors.

PROJECT COMPLETE // Woodcut Farm, Maidstone – Warehouse Alterations.

This project was for the construction of a new meeting room within the warehouse, with bespoke joinery elements of painted hardwood timber, 30 minute fire rated single glazed sash units and oak veneer doorset into a painted frame incorporated.

PROJECT COMPLETE // Eldon House, London - The Ground and Lower Level office underwent a complete CAT A refurbishment with structural alterations.

The façade at Ground floor brought in new Schuco full height glazed frontage allowing light to not only pass through at Ground Floor but through the Lower level also.

New dedicated Courtyard Entrance brought to life bespoke architectural staircase and gated entrance, exposed brick and rendered surfaces, glass light & brick slipped paved walkway.

Works progressing well with the newly extended staircore now starting to receive a new bespoke oak/glazed handrail & balustrade, designer lighting, new lift and decorations. New Second floor space office & WC fitout coming together with new wall linings, exposed ceiling treatments, suspended lighting, Kitchen and high end floor finishes. Externally, all being brought together with an update glazed and powder coated entrance doorset.

PROJECT COMPLETION // Sabre House, Tottenham, London – Refurbished industrial warehouse and office block, consisting of a new ‘Kingspan’ insulated roof and rooflights and insulated Bauder flat roofing system. Offices refitted with exposed ceilings & services, AC, Lighting, timber & ceramic floors. Warehouse space improved by joining 2 previously separate areas with new decorations and LED high bay lighting being installed and updated fire alarm system as well as external decorations.

PROJECT COMMENCED // 7th Floor, 105 Wigmore Street, London - CAT A refurbishment of 1 floor including WC facilities. ⁠⁠
Works comprise of new raised access floors, SAS Metal plank suspended ceiling with perimeter MF margins, full redecoration & washroom systems with associated tiling. New M&E services including lighting, air-conditioning/ventilation and sprinkler modifications/installations.

PROJECT COMPLETE // 10 Newburgh Street, Soho - CAT A refurbishment of 3 floors and common parts. ⁠⁠
All works completed to as planned, with new structural openings on each floor to create feature arches. New feature lighting scheme throughout, with new power/data. Existing timber floors were retained/sanded, new recycled carpet tiles were installed to the common parts. WC’s were refurbished to a high standard on the 3rd floor.

This building now stands out, with the new feature marble fireplaces, entrance tiling & WC’s. A new bespoke Valchromat scalloped kitchen was installed to the top floor with feature marble.
